How Do You Kill Ixion in FFXII?

The Elite Mark Hunts in "Final Fantasy XII" are special side-missions for which you must hunt down and destroy special monsters from around the world. Ixion is one of the many creatures your party will need to hunt down to complete the Elite Mark Hunts. Ixion is available at any time after you complete the storyline at the Pharos at Ridorana, however it is recommended that you have a party of at least level 60 or higher before you hunt down Ixion.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up your party's Gambits before you face Ixion. The essential Gambits for this battle include "Ally: Any - Arise," "Ally: Health points under 50% - Curaja," "Self: Magick points below 10% - Charge" and "Foe: Lowest health points - Attack."

    • 2

Travel to the Pharos at Ridorana. In the east side of the Pharos there is an elevator that will take you to the lower levels, where Ixion is located.

    • 3

Activate the elevator and select the "Penumbra" as your location. Fighting Ixion in the Penumbra causes its health points to be lower than if you fight him in the basement. If you see monsters roaming around the Penumbra, it means that Ixion is not there. Leave the Penumbra back the way you came and come down again until you encounter Ixion.

    • 4

Attack Ixion using your strongest physical attacks and reserve your magic for healing. Ixion has strong defenses against most magic types and cures itself of any negative status magic.

    • 5

Heal your party whenever their health gets low by using spells and healing items. Ixion will frequently use negative status magic against your party. Immediately cure negative status effects using spells or healing items.

    • 6

Attack and heal relentlessly as the fight draws to a close. Ixion's power, speed and defenses will increase as its health points deteriorate, so be wary and keep on top of healing when the battle is almost over.

    • 7

Cast "Berzerk" on Ixion at the start of the battle if your party has a hard time dealing with Ixion's spells, but have no problem defending against its physical attacks. Berzerk will prevent Ixion from being able to use magic or heal itself, but it will also increase Ixion's physical attacks and speed.
