How to Kill Liquid Metal Slime in Dragon Quest 8 for PS2

"Dragon Quest VIII" for the PlayStation 2 features a wide variety of enemies, including the liquid metal slime. Like all metal slimes, the liquid metal slime has extremely high defense and evasion statistics, making it difficult to hit, and when a hit connects it causes only one damage. Additionally, the liquid metal slime also flees from the battle on a regular basis. However, the liquid metal slime only has six to eight health points and when defeated, awards 10,500 experience points, enough for a single character to gain multiple levels. There are a few tactics to use when fighting liquid metal slimes.

  Use Jessica's Accelerate ability to increase the agility of your characters.This allows your characters to perform attacks before the liquid metal slime, increasing the chances that your group can kill it before it flees.

  Use Metal Slash with your main character and Angelo. Metal Slash raises your chance to hit a liquid metal slime. However, when the hit connects it still does only one damage.

  Use the abilities Thunder Thrust and Lightning Thrust with your main character, or Hatchet Man and Executioner with Yangus. Each of these abilities performs an attack that can kill a liquid metal slime instantly if it succeeds. However, these skills only succeed 50 percent of the time.

  Use weapons and skills that allow your characters to attack twice in one round. For example, using the Falcon Blade sword allows any character two attacks per round instead of one, and Jessica's Twin Dragon Lash attack allows her to attack twice in one round.

  Use your regular attack if you are out of magic points. Although it has a low chance of hitting the liquid metal slime, it is still possible to damage it this way.
