How to Get Gold Chocobo in FF7

Chocobos are bird-like creatures found in the "Final Fantasy" game series. In "Final Fantasy VII," breeding the Gold Chocobo is required to obtain the Knights of the Round summon spell. You get a Gold Chocobo by breeding a Black Chocobo with a Wonderful Yellow Chocobo. Wild Chocobos are caught on Chocobo footprints found on the world map.

Instructions

  Speak to Chocobo Bill at the Chocobo Ranch and rent all six available stables for 60,000 Gil.

  Fly the Highwind to the area south of the Golden Saucer. Walk on the Chocobo footprints until a random battle occurs. Here you are looking to catch a male and a female Good Yellow Chocobo. A Good Yellow Chocobo will appear with two Spencer enemies.

  Feed the Chocobo a Reagan green to keep it busy. Defeat the two Spencers but do not attack the Chocobo. You will capture the Chocobo when the two Spencers have been defeated. Repeat this process until you have a male and female Good Yellow Chocobo.

  Fly to the Mideel area and fight battles on the Chocobo tracks. Capture a male and a female Great Yellow Chocobo using the strategy outlined in Step 3. Great Chocobos will appear with one or two Spirals.

  Travel back to the Chocobo ranch and feed each of your Chocobos 20 Sylkis greens.

  Travel to the Golden Saucer and race with all four Chocobos. Win at least two races with each Chocobo, then return to the Chocobo Ranch. Save your game outside of the ranch.

  Breed the Good Male Chocobo and Good Female Chocobo and the Good Female and Great Male Chocobos using a Carob Nut. You should get a Green and Blue Chocobo of opposite genders. If you did not receive a Green and Blue of opposite genders, reload from your save outside the ranch and try again.

  Feed the Blue and Green Chocobos 20 Sylkis greens each.

  Travel to the Gold Saucer and win nine combined races with both Chocobos.

  Travel back to the Chocobo Ranch and breed the Green and Blue Chocobo using a Carob Nut. You will receive a Black Chocobo.

  Travel to the Icicle Inn and battle on the Chocobo tracks. Catch a Wonderful Yellow Chocobo of the opposite sex from your Black Chocobo.

  Feed the Black Chocobo and the Wonderful Yellow Chocobo 20 Sylkis greens each.

  Travel to the Gold Saucer and win 12 races with each Chocobo.
- 14
  Travel to the Chocobo Ranch and breed the Wonderful Yellow Chocobo and the Black Chocobo using a Zeio Nut to obtain a Gold Chocobo.
