PS2 Codebreaker Games

Designed to provide gamers with the ability to modify their existing games through the use of specially designed codes, Pelican's Codebreaker device supports titles across the PlayStation 2 library. Codebreaker codes allow players to make such changes to games as unlocking content, augmenting existing gameplay and changing the difficulty level. In addition to changing game content, the Codebreaker can also be used to back up PS2 game saves using a USB compatible device. Version 10.1 of the Codebreaker for PlayStation 2 lists codes for more than 1,400 games.
  1. Action Games

    • Games focused on fast-paced combat and heavy action are compatible with the codes found in the Codebreaker. "Devil May Cry," "God of War" and "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" are among the action titles that Codebreaker supports, offering the ability to equip unlimited health, unlock content and have maximum monetary gain.

    Racing Games

    • Racing game enthusiasts will find that the Codebreaker supports PS2 racing games of all types. Arcade racers like "Burnout" and "Midnight Club" allow for Codebreaker codes that unlock cars and tracks, as well as modify the abilities of computer-controlled opponents. On the other end of the racing spectrum, simulation racing games like "Gran Turismo 3" and "Moto GP" support Codebreaker codes for completing in-game challenges.

    Role-Playing Games

    • The library of role-playing games for the PS2 includes titles ranging from turn-based Japanese games to action-focused Western games. The Codebreaker supports titles in both styles, with games like "Final Fantasy X" and "Kingdom Hearts" in the turn-based variety and "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" and "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance" representing action games. Codebreaker codes for role-playing games can increase health or monetary gain, modify enemy abilities and accomplish other in-world modifications.

    Shooters

    • Both first and third-person shooters are supported with codes available on the Codebreaker. Titles in the former category, such as "Killzone" and "Red Faction," offer codes that allow infinite ammo, weapon unlocks and other combat related tweaks. Third-person shooters, including titles like "Kill Switch" and "Star Wars: Battlefront II" offer similar codes allowing for infinite health, ammo and equipment unlocks.

    Other Games

    • The Codebreaker supports titles found in all of the many genres represented in the PlayStation 2's library. Adventure-focused games like "Jak and Daxter" or "Sly Cooper" can be modified for ease of play. Stealth-based games, such as "Metal Gear Solid 3" and "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" allow the ability to use Codebreaker codes for decreased difficulty during sneaking missions. The Codebreaker even supports rhythm-action games like "Guitar Hero" and "Rez" for unlockable content and gameplay enhancements.
