How to Place a Lot in the Island on Sims: Castaways

There are several advantages to placing a lot and building a shelter on "The Sims 2: Castaway" for the PlayStation 2. The biggest advantage is that your Sims will be able to sleep during storms. Sims will stay awake until the end of a storm if they don't have a roof to sleep under, even if their energy meters are empty. If the storm lasts over night, you will then have to waste precious daylight letting them sleep. The second advantage is that clothing and other supplies last longer under shelter.

     Press "Start" to pause the game and open the menu.

     Select the "Plans" menu and press "X."

   • 3

     Use the arrow buttons to select the "Shelter Plans" menu. Press "X."

     Use the arrow buttons to select the house you want to build. Press "X."

   • 5

     Use the joysticks to place the hut where you want it. Press "X."

   • 6

     Press the "Triangle" button to exit each of the menus.

   • 7

     Walk up to the incomplete structure and press "X" when the "Build" option appears. Watch your Sim build the hut.
