Can You Change the Region of a PS2 ISO?

The PlayStation 2 is the second iteration of the PlayStation series by Sony. It features a DVD drive to read optical DVDs as games. These DVDs are coded by region. The two main regions are NTSC, which is used in the United States, and PAL, which is used in eastern Asia. DVD readers that are coded for NTSC will not work with PAL formatted DVDs and vice versa. But you can remove this restriction.

Instructions

    • 1

      Download and install DVD Decrypter.

    • 2

Open DVD Decrypter. Click "Mode" and select "ISO Read."

    • 3

Select an ISO to read from. Choose the directory to which you will save the new ISO.

    • 4

Check the boxes for "Remove IFO RC Protection" and "Remove IFO RCEProtection."

    • 5

Click the "Copy" button at the bottom of the window. A new region-free ISO is created.
