How to Pass the Training Stage in Splinter Cell for the PS2

Use the right analog stick to look at the lights on the left wall, right wall, ceiling, and floor. You will then be able to move Sam with the left analog stick.

Move to the next training area and scale the wall. Press the triangle button while in front of the wall to scale it.

Climb the ladder to the right and press "X" to zip-line down to a lower section of the training level.

Perform a split-jump by holding L2 and pressing the triangle button. Sam will spread his legs and maintain an aerial position. A soldier will then walk underneath you. Press "X" as he does so to fall on him, knocking him unconscious.

Advance through the hall, climb the pipe on the back wall, and then scale the fence. You will see a narrow alley that is just large enough for you to squeeze through.

Squeeze between the two walls by walking up to them as you normally would. Sam will automatically flatten himself against the walls and shimmy through the tight alley.

Navigate to the next area by climbing the pole outside of the alley and taking the ladder down beside the top of the pole, then leap to the high wall. To reach the high wall, you will need to run at the wall with yellow marks and press the triangle button before you reach it. Press the triangle button again as you make contact with the wall to receive an added boost and grab the high wall's ledge. Enter the door directly in front of you.

Open the next door by picking its locks. To begin this process, walk up to the door and press "X". Move the analog stick in circles until the lock clicks and Sam opens the door. Once opened, there will be an inattentive guard with his back to you.

Approach the guard and press "X". Sam will grab the man, allowing you to press "X" again to interrogate him. The guard will then reveal the code to the door on the other side of the room, 28469.

Type "28469" into the keypad and open the door on the far side of the room. Again, there will be an inattentive guard with his back to you.

Grab the guard, move him to the retinal scanner on the door on the far side of the room, and press "X" to force the man to open the door.

Move through the open door and equip your pistol, which is on the table immediately to your right, by pressing "X".

Proceed through the next two stairwells, avoiding the cameras the entire way. Shooting out lights and waiting for a camera to move to its blind spots are crucial to avoid detection. After moving through the final stairway, you will enter a padded room.

Move to the other side of the room while walking slowly. To walk slowly, slightly press up on the left analog stick. If you make too much noise, you will fail this portion of the training area and have to repeat.

Open the door on the far side of the padded room to complete the training mission.
