How to Get the Tower on Final Fantasy IX

A role-playing game from developer Square Soft, "Final Fantasy IX" allows players take on the role of likable thief Zidane Tribal as he battles the evil Kuja. Players arm their characters with weapons and armor found in chests and purchased in shops throughout the world. Towards the end of the game, players can acquire "The Tower," a powerful thief sword that Zidane can wield. To find "The Tower," players must travel to Memoria and defeat the Nova Dragon.

Instructions

- 1
  Travel to Memoria using your recently acquired airship. Equip the airship with wind-reduction equipment so you can gain the necessary elevation to travel above the Iifa tree, where the portal to Memoria floats. Fly toward the purple warp to begin your fight with the Nova Dragon.

  Attack the Nova Dragon using your party's strongest magical attacks. The dragon has a countering ability that will negate most physical attacks. Use spells such as "No Mercy," "Aura," "Shock" and "Flare" to deal the the most damage.

  Assign "Curaga-all" to Eiko to heal your party during combat. The Nova Dragon has several attacks that deal damage to all members of your party. Healing frequently will enable you to sustain your attacks against the dragon.

  Enter the castle and follow the path that opens after defeating the dragon until you reach the platform at the top. Step out onto the platform and walk to the chest in the corner. Open the chest to find "The Tower."
