How to Play Final Fantasy X-2 Using ePSXe

The PSX, or ePSXe, is an emulation program that allows you to run PlayStation and PlayStation 2 video games on your computer without need for the PlayStation hardware. The ePSXe emulator is one of the more widely used emulators, and still receives updates and support well after its initial release. To play games, like "Final Fantasy X-2," you will follow the same process that is used to play any game on this emulator.

Instructions

  1. Download, Configure and Play

The ePSXe is available on the internet for free.

Download and install the ePSXe software. You will want release 1.8.0 or later. These can be found on the ePSXe website or on various mirror sites. A "Wizard Guide" will guide you through the system configuration.

Not all game pads will be accepted by the ePSXe.

Decide on how you want to play. If you want to use a controller rather than your keyboard and mouse, then you will need to connect a USB video game controller to your system. Inside ePSXe, select "Configure" and then the "Game Pad" option. The ePSXe software will detect your controller automatically.

The ePSXe turns your computer into a PlayStation.

Configure your ePSXe software to auto run. Inside the "Configure" menu you will have the option to set the ePSXe to auto run when it detects a PlayStation or PlayStation 2 disc. This option saves time when starting the ePSXe program.

ePSXe is a great way to enjoy out of print games.

Insert the "Final Fantasy X-2" game disc into the computer's CD-ROM drive. The ePSXe software will detect the disc and automatically start. The program will run full screen and "Final Fantasy X-2" will start. From here, the game will act just as it does inside of a PlayStation 2.
