How Do I Get the Fly Ability on Kingdom Hearts II?

In the action RPG "Kingdom Hearts II" for the PlayStation 2, players take control of Sora, a young man with fantastic abilities that he uses to fight against the sinister Heartless. Late in the game, as Sora's strength increases, he unlocks an ability called Glide, which allows him to slow down his descent after a jump and fly through the air for a brief period of time. To unlock the Glide ability, players must first obtain Sora's Final Form, the last of his drive form abilities.

Instructions

    • 1

Play through the game's main storyline until you unlock The World That Never Was. This is the final level of the game, so you must complete the majority of the game's main storyline to unlock the world.

    • 2

Travel to The World That Never Was for the first time. Make your way through the only path in the city while battling foes to reach the skyscraper. When you reach the skyscraper, a cut scene will take place showing a fight between Roxas and Sora. When the scene is over, save your game.

    • 3

Turn into any of your Drive Forms after the cut scene. You must do this while fighting enemies. When you turn into any of your Drive Forms after the fight between Roxas and Sora, you will have a random chance of turning into your Final Form instead of whichever form you selected. After you've unlocked your Final Form, you will have the option of choosing it from your drive menu.

    • 4

Perform the Glide maneuver at any time while in your Final Form by pressing "X" to jump in the air and holding down the "Square" button to hang in midair. Use the directional stick to navigate while flying.

    • 5

Raise the level of your Final Form to unlock the Glide ability for Sora's regular form. Level 3 of your Final Form earns Sora the ability to use Glide. At Level 5 and Level 7, the Glide ability becomes stronger, allowing you to fly for longer.

    • 6

Equip the Glide ability from the character menu. Sora must have Glide equipped to use it. You will need to give up a previously acquired ability to make room for Glide if you do not have an empty ability slot.
