Easy Money
Create a character that is a ruler with no followers to earn some initial extra money. When the game begins, you will also receive an allotment of food, which you can sell immediately for more game cash. This will give you an initial advantage; the extra cash allows you to purchase weapons and defensive tools.
Extra Experience
To gain extra experience without doing any game activities, sit idly for about 10 minutes or so when a new month begins. Once that time has passed, you will be asked a question, which is different each time. An example of a possible question could be "What city can you see the Great Wall of China in?" If you answer the question correctly, you'll gain extra experience.
Playing with Your Own Group
In order to unlock the PS2's multiplayer mode, select your scenario and choose your character as you would for any task. When you begin your turn, press "L1," "L2," "R1," "R2" and "Select" on the controller. You'll see a prompt that says "Add Player Officer" on an in-screen menu. All the players that have been available to that point will be available for you to use. Select the player that you want. Then, select a character for player two and so on, for up to eight controllable characters.
Historical Secret Characters Available
There are a number of secret characters within this game. You can play as such historical figures as Abe Lincoln, Daniel Boone, Albert Einstein, Ben Franklin, Harry Houdini, Betsy Ross, Mother Teresa and Wyatt Earp. There are approximately 30 secret characters that you can access. When you're at the main menu, click on the "New Officer" link. Select "Create New Officer" from that menu and, when prompted, enter the name of the historical figure you wish to create by typing the last name first and first name last. You will hear music if the name has been entered correctly. Your new character will be given the skills and abilities associated with that specific person. You can even customize the characters with facial expressions and birthdays.
