How to Beat Stage 4 in Need for Speed: Underground 2

Released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2004, "Need for Speed: Underground 2" places players in the open world city of Bayview where they can custom build street race cars. "Underground 2" features head-to-head race modes and a career mode that contains five stages. Stage four, Coal Harbor East, requires players to complete 68 total races including 22 circuit, 11 sprint, seven drift, 12 drag, nine street X and seven URL races. Beating the Coal Harbor East stage requires players to take first in each of the 68 different races.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete circuit, sprint and URL races by focusing on avoiding traffic, powersliding through curves and by taking as many shortcuts as possible. These types of races only require you beat your competition in a head-to-head race from point A to B or by finishing the required number of laps first. By avoiding costly crashes you should finish comfortably ahead of the field.

    • 2

Accelerate using the right analog stick by pressing up during the countdown before each drag race. Wait for the tachometer to turn green and then accelerate into gear as quickly as possible once the countdown ends. Beating your opponent off of the initial starting line will allow you to win most drag races.

    • 3

Stay behind your opponents to give yourself the space needed to produce the highest drifting scores possible. Use multiplying zones to increase your drift score, while carefully avoiding hitting any walls, which causes you to lose your score, while you drift across the race track. Drift races do not require you to finish the race first, only that you finish the race with the highest drift score.

    • 4

Practice driving through curves before attempting to compete in any Street X races. The tracks used in Street X races are similar to those used in circuit races, only smaller and harder to navigate. Winning a Street X race requires that you lose as little speed as possible when driving through curves.
