Ways to Get a Chocobo Wing

The magical items featured in "Final Fantasy X" help your party members cast powerful spells to defeat enemies, heal damage or improve their abilities. The Chocobo Wing item casts the spell Haste on your entire active party, allowing them to attack more quickly and take more turns. You cannot find the Chocobo Wing in a treasure chest or buy it at an item shop. You must obtain it through special means.
  1. Stealing Chocobo Wings

    • The easiest way to obtain a Chocobo Wing is to steal it from a Cactuar. All of the Cactuars in the Bikanel Island region have Chocobo Wings. It is a rare item, however, so many times you will end up with the less powerful Chocobo Feather instead. You will receive only one Chocobo Wing per Cactuar. If you have Rikku in your party, use her Mug or Steal abilities. For the best results, teach all of your party members either Mug or Steal so that you have multiple opportunities to try for a Chocobo Wing.

    Stealing from Monster Arena Monsters

    • Some monsters in the Monster Arena will also give you a Chocobo Wing when you steal from them. Fenrir and Ornitholestes both have the chance to give up a Chocobo Wing, although it is a rare item, so the action will not always be successful. Unlock Fenrir in the Monster Arena by capturing three of each monster: Bandersnatch, Dingo, Garm, Mi'ihen Fang, Sand Wolf, Skoll and Snow Wolf. Unlock Orintholestes by capturing three of each monster: Dinonix, Iguion, Ipiria, Melusine, Raptor, Yowie and Zaurus.

    Bribing for Chocobo Wings

    • The bribe ability gives your party the opportunity to trade a large amount of Gil for a bulk quantity of Chocobo Wings. Travel to the Omega Ruins and explore the dungeon until you have a random encounter with a Machea monster. Use the Bribe command and give the monster 360,000 Gil. This causes the monster to let your party go, and your reward for the battle will be 60 Chocobo Wings. You can repeat this method multiple times, as long as you can afford it.

    Chocobo Wings as a Prize

    • Your party can earn many Chocobo Wings for obtaining the Cactuar King for the Monster Arena. To unlock the Cactuar King, your party must capture one of every monster that appears in Thunder Plains. The party receives 99 Chocobo Wings as a reward for capturing the Cactuar King. As a bonus, whenever you fight the Cactuar King in the Monster Arena, you can steal two Chocobo Wings from him at once. Unlike with other monsters, the Chocobo Wing is a common item when you steal from Cactuar King.
