Court and marry a bachelorette. You can marry Lumina, Muffy, Celia or Nami in "Harvest Moon Special Edition." You will get cut scenes each time you raise a bachelorette's affections one additional heart. You can court all four bachelorettes and see all of their cut scenes before you choose one bachelorette to marry.
Raise your child's affections. After you marry a bachelorette, the two of you will have a child. The more you raise your child's affections, the more cut scenes you will see.
Attend festivals. The townspeople hold one festival per season. If you attend the festivals, you will trigger cut scenes that feature your farmer celebrating with his neighbors.
Befriend the townspeople. The greater you raise townspeople's affection levels, the greater your chances of triggering cut scenes.
Visit the townspeople at different times of day (game time). After you raise a townsperson's affection level, visit him at different times of day. For example, you may usually visit a character during the day and never see a cut scene. Visit him at night and you may see a cut scene.
Complete the story mode of the game. There are six chapters of the game you must complete in order to finish the game. After each chapter, you will see a cut scene. To complete a chapter, you must farm for between one and three years of game time. The number of years differs each chapter.
