How to Use PS3 Component Cables on PS2s

The Sony PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 feature several different A/V connection options, designed to accommodate the needs of the user. Both systems include a proprietary SCART A/V cable that features a single composite RCA video connector and two analog audio connectors. Sony, along with several other after-market manufacturers, offer component video SCART cables intended for use with the PS3 and PS2. Although the PS3 succeeds the PS2 in regards to features and performance, the proprietary SCART cables available for both systems are interchangeable.
