Connect the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port located on the back of the PS2 slimline version. Press firmly to click the Ethernet cable connector's locking tab into place.
Insert the "Online Setup" disc included with retail PS2 Slimline models. If you do not have this disc, insert a game that has the "Network Setup Utility" on the disc.
Select "Network Configuration" from the main screen and press the "X" button. A "New Network Configuration" screen appears.
Type out a name for the configuration using the on-screen keyboard or a connected universal serial bus keyboard. Press the "X" button to bring up the next screen.
Select "Yes" on the "Internet Service Provider" screen and press the "X" button.
Select "High Speed Connection" and press the "X" button to bring up the next screen.
Select "Automatic Settings" and press the "X" button. An "ISP User Login or DHCP Host" screen appears.
Enter your ISP login information if applicable. If your ISP does not use a login to verify service, enter the DHCP host name in the bottom box. The DHCP host name can be found in your ISP service agreement or Internet set up instructions.
Press the "X" button and the network configuration will save to the memory card. Your PS2 Slimline can now play online in online multiplayer-enabled games.
