How to Hook Up a PlayStation 2 to a DTV Converter Box

Sony's enhanced graphic interface is much more intense when coupled with digital TV. Even if you still have your old analog television, you can connect a DTV converter and RF modulator to your PlayStation 2 and improve the screen display. A DTV converter box is easy to install. It converts digital signals into an analog format, making it viewable on your analog TV set.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn off the TV and DTV converter. Unplug the power supply of each component from the main power outlet.

      Locate and disconnect the coaxial cable of your antenna from the back of the DTV converter. Look for the "Antenna In" port at the rear of the RF modulator and insert the antenna cable into it.

      Look for the AV (audio visual) cables of the PS2 console and connect them. Connect the respective colored jacks of the PS2 AV cable to the respective colored plugs at the back of the RF modulator.

      Plug one end of the coaxial cable that comes with the RF modulator into the "Signal Out" or "To TV" port of the RF modulator, and the other end to the "Antenna In" of the DTV converter.

      Make sure the coaxial cable that connects from the DTV converter's "To TV" port to the "Antenna In" port at the back of the TV is in place. If not, connect them.

      Plug the power cords of the DTV converter box, analog TV, RF modulator and PS2 into the their respective power sockets, and turn the power switches on.
