Secret Guitars in Career Mode
You can unlock many secret guitars in Career Mode. On Easy difficulty, unlock the Moon Shot guitar by completing the game and the Bat guitar by achieving a five-star score on every song. On Medium difficulty, unlock the Saint George guitar by completing the game and the Jolly Roger guitar by scoring five-stars on every song. On Hard difficulty, unlock the Rojimbo guitar by completing the game and the Tiki guitar by achieving a five-star score on every song. On the Expert difficulty, unlock the Distant Visitor guitar by completing Career mode and the El Jefe guitar by achieving a five-star score on every song.
Secret Guitar in Co-Op Mode
In Co-op mode, you can unlock several secret guitars. Unlock the Nemesis 13 guitar by completing Co-Op career mode on any difficulty and the Beach Life bass by completing Co-Op career mode on Hard difficulty. Unlock the PendulAxe Bass by completing Co-Op mode on Expert difficulty and the Neversoft Skateboard guitar by scoring five stars on every song on Expert difficulty.
Unlockable Characters
You can also unlock characters in "Guitar Hero III" for the PS2. Unlock Tom Morello by beating him in a boss battle in Career mode and buying Morello in an unlock shop for $10,000. Unlock Slash, the former guitarist for Guns N' Roses, by Slash in Career mode by beating him and buying Slash in the unlock shop for $10,000. Unlock Lou by beating him in Career mode and buying Lou in the unlock shop for $15,000.
Make Songs Easier
To songs easier in "Guitar Hero 3" for the PS 2, move the Strum Bar Up and Down before the chord appears and the song begins, until the meter stops going down. When the meter finally stops, it will be in the red section. When the meter begins again, it will be towards the middle of the song. To make "Through the Fire and Flames" easier, pause the game before using Star Power, hold "Select," and then resume the game. This cheat helps you avoid missing many notes, if you are aiming to achieve a five-star score.
