How to Get PS3 Saves on a PC

Unlike the PlayStation 2 gaming console, the PlayStation 3 has the capability of saving gameplay progress onto an internal hard drive. If you want to get your PS3 save files onto your PC, you must first back them up to a flash drive, after which you can copy them to your PC. Having a backup of your PS3 save files allows you to restore them in case they get corrupted.

Instructions

      Insert a flash drive into one of your PC̵7;s USB ports.

      Click the ̶0;Start̶1; button, and then click the option labeled ̶0;Computer.̶1;

      Right-click the flash drive icon, and select ̶0;Format.̶1;

      Click the ̶0;File System̶1; drop-down menu, and select ̶0;FAT32.̶1;

      Click ̶0;Start̶1; to format the flash drive.

      Turn on your PS3. Next, remove the flash drive, and insert it into a USB port on your PS3.

      Scroll to the ̶0;Game̶1; section on the XrossMediaBar.

      Select the ̶0;Saved Data Utility (PS3)̶1; option.

      Highlight any save file, and press the ̶0;Triangle̶1; button.

      Select ̶0;Copy,̶1; and then select ̶0;USB Device̶1; to copy the save file.

      Remove the flash drive, and connect it to your PC.

      Click the ̶0;View Files̶1; option on the Autoplay menu.

      Right-click the PS3 save file, and click ̶0;Copy.̶1;

      Right-click any other location on your PC̵7;s hard drive, and select ̶0;Paste̶1; to get the PS3 save file to your PC.
