How to Make Sound Come Out of Your Mic on a PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 is compatible with most Bluetooth headsets, allowing you to pair your device to the console so you can communicate with other users during online gameplay. When pairing a non-Sony device with the PS3, many users notice that the audio they want to hear from the headset, i.e., the other players' voices, typically comes from the TV speakers, which can be disorienting. This setting can be changed manually through the PS3.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate through the PlayStation 3 main menu with the thumbsticks on the PS3 controller. When selecting items on a given menu, press "X." To go back from a selected screen, or to cancel a process, press "Circle."

    • 2

Select the "Settings" menu. Scroll down to the "Accessory Settings" option, then select "Audio Device Settings."

    • 3

Select the "Output Device" option. Set this to "Wireless Headset," then select "OK" to confirm and save this setting.
