How to Hook Up 2 Headsets to PS3

The PlayStation 3 game console uses the Bluetooth wireless connectivity standard for its controllers and wireless headsets. The system supports up to seven Bluetooth controllers at once but only supports the use of one Bluetooth audio device at a time. This doesn't mean that you can't connect more than one Bluetooth headset to your system; in fact, you can connect two Bluetooth headsets and register them with the system so that they won̵7;t need to be paired again. This way, you can select which Bluetooth headset you want to use from the Settings section of the XrossMediaBar.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the PS3 system and scroll to the Settings section on the XrossMediaBar. Scroll down to "Accessory Settings" and press the "X" button. Scroll down to the "Manage Bluetooth Devices" option and press the "X" button.

    • 2

Select "Yes" when asked if you want to register a new device. Press the power button on the Bluetooth headset to turn it on. Select the "Start Scanning" option on the PS3 system to scan for the headset.

    • 3

Select the Bluetooth headset from the list of scan results. Type the headset's pass key in the space provided to pair the headset with the system.

    • 4

Return to the "Manage Bluetooth Devices" menu and select the "Register New Device" option. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for the second Bluetooth headset.

    • 5

Scroll to the "Settings" section of the XrossMediaBar and select "Accessory Settings." Scroll down to the "Audio Device Settings" option and press the "X" button.

    • 6

Highlight the "Input Device" option and press the "X" button. Now you can select which of the two connected headsets you want to use while playing on your PS3 system.
