How to Change the Color of Your PlayStation Move Controller

In 2010, to compete with the new releases of similar technology, Sony developed and released the PlayStation Move motion controller for the PlayStation 3 home gaming console. The PlayStation Move comes in two parts, one of which contains a sphere on one end made out of clear plastic. Its purpose is to allow the accompanying PlayStation Eye to detect what part of the room the controller is in, and the sphere can change color depending on a few factors.

  Improve your performance in the game you are playing. One of the factors of the color of your PlayStation Move sphere is how well you perform in a game, as a form of feedback.

  Change the game you are playing. Because there is no default color, some games will cause the sphere to change to a different color than others.

  Change your environment, which is another factor in sphere color. For example, if you have many colorful items near your gaming environment, you can move them out of the way to alter the environment. The sphere will change color to avoid conflicting with your environment, so changing it will open new options.

  Calibrate your Move controller again. Calibrating your controller takes your new environments into consideration, picking a color upon completion until you begin playing a new game.
