How to: Movies on Mac to TV via PlayStation

Your Playstation 3 is capable of playing much more than just your video game titles. The PS3 supports a connection to additional USB storage devices that allows you to display digital movies and photos right on your TV. Use the XMB menu of the Playstation console to recognize the connection to your storage drive and display content from your Mac on your TV.

  Connect the USB end of the storage drive into an open port on your Mac. The drive will appear as a "USB Drive" icon on your desktop.

  Double-click the "USB Drive" icon to open a folder associated with the contents of the USB drive. Drag the movie from your Mac into the USB drive's folder. Wait for it to be copied into the folder.

  Click the "USB Drive" icon, and drag it onto the "Trash" icon to eject it from your operating system.

  Plug the USB drive into one of the USB ports on the PS3 game console. Turn on the TV and the PS3.

  Scroll to the "Video" option in the PS3 menu, and press "X."

  Scroll to the "USB Device" option, and press the "Triangle" button. Highlight the "Display All" option, and press "X" to recognize the connection to the USB device.

  Scroll to the movie file you uploaded from your Mac and press "X" to play the file on your TV.
