How to Set Up a PS3 for Media Music Server

The Sony PlayStation 3 can be used as a media server to stream media files over a local network. This allows gamers to access the music files stored on their computer from their PS3 console, expanding the entertainment capabilities of the gaming console. Before you can use this feature, the media server function must be enabled in the system̵7;s settings.

      Turn on your PS3 console.

      Navigate to the ̶0;Settings̶1; tab, which is on the far left side of the Xross Media Bar, or XMB.

      Scroll down and select the ̶0;Network Settings̶1; option.

      Select ̶0;Media Server Connection̶1; and set it to ̶0;Enabled.̶1; You console will now be able to access other Digital Living Network Alliance, or DLNA, media servers over your local network.
