How to Make Home Text Bigger With PS3

Although a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution lends itself toward beautiful, highly detailed graphics, it also results in extremely small and barely readable text -- especially in high-definition televisions that are less than 30 inches. There is no option on the PlayStation 3 to adjust text size, but you can make your home text bigger by lowering your console's resolution. This will stretch the graphics and text, which will lower the graphics quality but increase the text size.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the "Settings" option from the home screen.

    • 2

Click the "Display Settings" button from under the "Settings" menu.

    • 3

Choose the "Video Output Settings" option from the "Display Settings" sub-menu.

    • 4

Choose the "HDMI" input connector from the "Connector Type" option screen.

    • 5

Scroll to the "480p" option and click on it. It is the lowest resolution available for HDMI televisions. It will drastically reduce the quality of game graphics, but it will increase the size of text, allowing you to browse the Internet and read/send email without as much difficulty.

Click the "4:3" option from the "TV Type" menu and then save all your settings by clicking "Confirm."
