Things You'll Need
Instructions
Set your materials down on newspaper to collect excess wood material when drilling.
Place one 3-by-3-foot piece of wood on the ground. This will be the baseboard of your gaming cabinet.
Drill two 1/2-inch pilot holes, one at each corner, on both sides of the baseboard. There should be four holes total on the baseboard, two on each side.
Take a second 3-by-3-foot square of plywood and turn it so it faces perpendicular to the baseboard. Draw pencil marks on the spots where the holes on the baseboard line up with the 3-by-3-foot square side panel.
Drill pilot holes where the two pencil marks are on the plywood side panel. Hold this side perpendicular to the baseboard and drill two 1/2-inch wood screws in until the side panel sits flush against the baseboard.
Repeat the same drilling process as steps 4 and 5 with the opposite side panel.
Lift up the third 3-by-3-foot plywood panel and place it directly on top of the two side panels. Make sure that both sides are flush with the top panel. Mark the pilot holes for the top panel. There should be four total.
Lift up the top square slightly and use your pencil to mark the corresponding pilot holes. Drill these pilot holes and drive screws in to secure the top panel to the two cabinet sides.
Screw the two cabinet hinges in place on one side of the cabinet with the 1/4-inch wood screws. Mark the spots on the last plywood panel where the cabinet hinge will attach. This last panel will serve as the cabinet door. Secure the door panel to the cabinet hinges with four more screws. The door should swing open and close effortlessly.
Go outside, lay down newspaper, and spray paint the cabinet unit. Three coats should be sufficient. Let the cabinet dry for at least two hours before using.
