How to Get Headphones to Work on PS3

Unlike previous PlayStation gaming consoles, PlayStation 3 includes a wireless feature that allows you to connect headphones or headsets to listen to your games while your playing and connect and chat with other users online. Bluetooth headphones can be paired with your gaming console to offer the convenience of talking and listening to content no matter where you are in the room. Connecting and pairing your wireless headphone with your PS3 takes minutes to complete.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your headphones to your PS3 using the USB cable to charge it. Most headsets will flash on and off until they are fully charged. Once connected, the headset automatically pairs with your gaming console.

    • 2

Pair your headset using the Bluetooth discovery mode if you weren't able connect with the USB cable. Press and hold the power button on your headphones until the power and mic muting indicators alternately flash. This indicates that the headset is in Bluetooth discovery mode.

    • 3

Select "Settings" on your PS3's home screen and select "Accessory Settings." Select "Manage Bluetooth Devices," then "Yes" to pair the headset with your PS3.

    • 4

Select "Start Scanning," then wait for your gaming console to search for your headset. Don't turn off your headset during the scanning process. Select your wireless headset when your PS3 gaming console finds it, and then enter "0000" (without quotes) as the pass key.
