The Sony PlayStation 3, or PS3, gaming console supports a range of high-definition visual modes such as 720p and 1080p. By default, your PS3 is automatically configured to display the highest possible visual mode when connected to an HDTV. However, you can also manually set your HDTV to display the 720p mode by configuring your PS3̵7;s display settings.

Turn on your PS3.

Scroll over to the ̶0;Settings̶1; option on your PS3̵7;s XMB.

Select ̶0;Display Settings,̶1; ̶0;Video Output Settings,̶1; ̶0;HDMI̶1; and ̶0;Custom.̶1;

Check the box next to ̶0;720P.̶1;
