Turn on your computer, and locate the songs you want to transfer to your PS3 gaming console.
Plug or connect an external USB drive, such as a flash drive, into an open USB port on your computer. If you're using Windows, double-click "Computer" on the desktop, then double-click your external drive's icon in the "Drives" section. If you're using a Mac, locate your external drive's icon on the desktop, and double-click it.
Drag songs from your computer to your external drive's window. The songs are automatically copied to your external drive.
Close the window, and then unplug your external drive from your computer.
Turn on your PS3, and turn on your TV. The PS3's XMB menu is displayed on the screen.
Plug your external drive into your PS3 gaming console. If you're using a flash drive, plug it into one of the four USB ports.
Select the "Music" tab from the PS3's XMB menu, and then highlight the USB external device you connected to your gaming console. Press the "Triangle" button on your controller.
Highlight "Display All" and press the "X" button. A new screen displays the music files you copied from your computer.
Select the songs you want to load to your PS3, and press the "Triangle" button. Select "Copy" to load the songs to your PS3's hard drive.
