How to Fix the Error Funds Could Not Be Added to Your Wallet on the PS3

If there is an problem with the billing information you entered on your PlayStation 3 system, your system may display error number 80023102 whenever you attempt to add funds to your PlayStation Store wallet. This error prevents you from adding money to your account, thus preventing you from making any purchases on the PlayStation Store. Since the error is linked directly to your billing information, you can bypass the error by deleting and reentering your information on the PS3 system.

Instructions

      Turn on the PlayStation 3 system and scroll over to the "PlayStation Network" section of the XrossMediaBar. Scroll up to the "Account Management" option and press the "X" button.

      Scroll up to the "Account Information" option and press the "X" button. Scroll up to the "Billing Information" option and press the "X" button.

      Type your PlayStation Network password in the space provided, highlight the "Continue" option and press the "X" button.

      Scroll down to the "Delete Billing Information" option and press the "X" button. Confirm that you want to delete your billing information to delete the data.

      Enter the card type, cardholder's name, card number, expiration date and security code exactly as they appear on the credit card in the spaces provided. Highlight the "Continue" option and press the "X" button to continue.

      Enter the street address, city, state, postal code and country tied to the credit card you entered in Step 5 in the spaces provided. Highlight the "Confirm" option and press the "X" button to save the changes. With the fresh billing information entered, you will no longer encounter the 80023102 error.
