How to Make Your PS3 Controller Not Vibrate

Controller vibration has been a standard feature for video game consoles since Nintendo introduced the Rumble Pak for the Nintendo 64 in the late 1990s. For instance, the PlayStation 3 includes vibration for the Dual Shock 3 controller, allowing you to feel the bumps and bruises of your in-game actions. The feature can, however, be a distraction for games requiring precision. Disable vibrations on your controller using the system's built-in controls.

     Turn on your PS3 and press your controller's PlayStation logo button.

     Scroll to "Settings."

     Scroll down and select "Accessory Settings."

     Select "Controller Vibration Function." Two options appear: "On" and "Off."
