How to Make a PS3 Read Augmented Reality

Augmented reality is a term used when an electronic device uses your surrounding area and terrain and incorporates it into its games, applications and operating system. The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) uses a device known as the PlayStation Eye to survey the area your PS3 is in and uses it with certain games. To get augmented reality working properly on the PS3, the system must be updated.

      Press the "PS" button on the PS3 controller to power on the PS3. The PS3 syncs with the controller when the "PS" button is pressed.

      Select the "System Update" option under the "System" tab on the PS3 menu. Select "Update via Internet" on the next screen.

      Select "Download" to download the latest system update on the Sony PS3. The update is saved to the PS3.

      Select "Install" and the update is installed onto the PS3. Press "X" to agree to the terms and conditions of the Sony PS3 system update.
