How to Hook Up a PlayStation 3 to a Small Flat Screen Toshiba TV

Component Connection

  Connect the square side of the component cable into the "AV Multi Out" port on the back of the PS3.

  Connect the large green, red and blue prongs on the opposite side of the component cable into the green, red and blue component ports on the Toshiba TV. Connect the smaller red and white audio prongs into the composite AV ports next to the component ports.

  Change the Toshiba TV to the "Component" video mode using the remote control or button on the TV. Press the "Power" button on the front of the PS3 and wait for the logo to appear.

AV Connection

  Connect the square side of the composite AV cable into the "AV Multi Out" port on the back of the PS3.

  Connect the large yellow, red and white prongs on the opposite side of the composite AV cable into the yellow, red and white composite AV ports on the Toshiba TV.

  Change the Toshiba TV to the "AV" video mode using the remote control or button on the TV. Press the "Power" button on the front of the PS3 and wait for the logo to appear.

HDMI Connection

  Connect the HDMI cable into the "HDMI" port on the back of the PS3 and the "HDMI" port on the Toshiba TV.

  Change the Toshiba TV to the "HDMI" video mode using the remote control or button on the TV. Press the "Power" button on the front of the PS3 and wait for the logo to appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to optimize the HDMI connection for your Toshiba TV.
