Connect the other end of the coaxial cable that is attached to the cable wall outlet -- put in by the DirecTV technician -- to the RF ̶0;Satellite In̶1; connector on the back of the DirecTV receiver.
Use another coaxial cable to connect the DirecTV receiver̵7;s RF ̶0;Out to TV̶1; connector to the RF ̶0;Antenna̶1; input connector. Or, if you are hooking up an HD receiver to a high-definition television, use an HDMI cable to link the DirecTV receiver̵7;s ̶0;HDMI̶1; output port to the television̵7;s ̶0;HDMI̶1; input port.
Connect the DirecTV receiver̵7;s power cable to the power jack on the rear panel of the device. Plug the power cable into an electrical outlet.
Insert the end of the PS3̵7;s AV cable that has only one plug into the ̶0;AV Multi Out̶1; connector on the PS3 console̵7;s rear panel.
Plug the red plug, on the other end of the PS3̵7;s AV cable, into the television̵7;s red AV input jack labeled ̶0;Audio R.̶1; Plug the white plug into the television̵7;s white AV input jack labeled ̶0;Audio L.̶1; Plug the yellow plug into the television̵7;s yellow AV input jack labeled ̶0;Video.̶1;
Connect the PS3̵7;s power cable to the power jack on the rear panel of the device. Plug the power cable into an electrical outlet.
Turn on the TV, DirecTV receiver and PS3.
Tune the TV to channel 3 to view DirecTV programming in the main window if you are using a standard definition DirecTV receiver. Use the ̶0;Input̶1; or ̶0;Source̶1; button on the TV̵7;s remote control to set the TV̵7;s video input channel to the ̶0;HDMI̶1; input to view DirecTV programming in the main window if you are using a high-definition DirecTV receiver. Use the ̶0;Input̶1; or ̶0;Source̶1; button on the TV̵7;s remote control to set the TV̵7;s video input channel to the ̶0;AV̶1; input to view video from your PS3 in the main window.
Use the ̶0;PIP̶1; button on the TV̵7;s remote control to bring up the smaller PIP window. Then use the ̶0;Input̶1; or ̶0;Source̶1; button to set the video input channel for the PIP window.
