Specs for the 320 PS3 Slim

The PlayStation 3 Slim -- often called the PS3 Slim -- is a video-gaming and multimedia device developed by Sony. The company released the PS3 Slim in 2009. The term ̶0;320 PS3 Slim̶1; refers to a version of the device equipped with a 320-gigabyte hard drive. Sony released this version of the PS3 Slim in 2010. In addition to a larger hard drive, its features include a Blu-ray player, HDMI output and Wi-Fi capabilities.

Identification
- The 320GB version of the PS3 Slim measures 11.4 inches wide, 11.4 inches deep and 2.6 inches thick at its thickest point. It weighs 7.1 pounds before optional upgrades and accessories, and without any games or Blu-ray discs loaded in its drive. Sony sells 320GB versions of the PS3 Slim in either Charcoal Black or Classic White. The device comes bundled with an Ethernet network cable, composite audio-video cable and one DualShock 3 handheld wireless controller.
Features
- The PS3 Slim is built around an eight-core IBM Cell Broadband Engine processor. The system has 256 megabytes of XDRAM, an Nvidia RSX graphics controller and 256MB of discrete GDDR3 SDRAM graphics memory. The 320GB PS3 Slim also has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities for accessing the Internet via a wireless connection, two USB 2.0 ports and a Profile 2.0 Blu-ray player. The device̵7;s onboard media player is compatible with MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video files, as well as MP3, AAC and ATRAC3 audio files. The system also has a built-in JPEG photo viewer. The 320GB version of the PS3 Slim is not backward compatible, meaning that you can̵7;t play PS2 games on the system, for example.
Connectivity
- The 320GB PS3 Slim supports a maximum external display resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels. It also supports 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i resolutions. Inputs and outputs available on the device include two four-pin USB Type A ports, one RJ-45 Ethernet port, one 19-pin HDMI Type A output, one PS3 audio-video output and one S/PDIF Toslink output. The system also has Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR capabilities. Sony equips the 320GB PS3 Slim with DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio output support as well. The device doesn't have an infrared port and as such can't be paired with a standard infrared remote control.
Controller and Additional Information
- The PS3 Slim̵7;s wireless DualShock 3 controller features dual analog joysticks, right and left triggers, and various buttons. While Sony sells the 320GB PS3 Slim by itself, in the U.S. the company also sells the device as part of the PlayStation Move, PlayStation Eye and PlayStation Sports Champions bundles at the time of publication. Additional peripherals accompany each of these bundles. The PlayStation Move bundle, for example, includes the PlayStation Eye camera and PlayStation Move motion controller, in addition to the standard items bundled with the 320GB PS3 Slim.
