How to Charge My Fully Dead PS3 Controller

The PlayStation 3 video game system comes packaged with a wireless controller, such as the SIXAXIS and DUALSHOCK 3 models, freeing up the clutter caused by tangled wires. Removing the need for a constant wired connection with your console does, however, come with a downside. After several hours of use, your wireless controller's ion-lithium battery runs out of juice. When this occurs, recharge it to get back into your game.

  Turn off the PS3.

  Insert the wireless controller's charging cable's mini-USB connector into the controller's mini-USB plug-in on the top.

  Insert the opposite end of the charging cable into an unused USB port on the front of your PS3.

  Turn on the PS3. The lights on the top of the controller illuminate and flash, indicating the device is charging. Wait approximately one hour for the controller to recharge. Hold down the "PS" button on the controller to view battery level to track the recharge progress.
