How to Hook Up the Turtle Beach Headset for PS3

The Turtle Beach Ear Force PX 21 headset works with various gaming consoles, including Sony's PlayStation 3. The headset lets you listen to your system's audio output and talk to other players at the same time. However, the headset is more complex to set up than a standard headset because the PS3 transfers the audio output to both the TV and the headset. Use the headset's adapter cable to successfully connect the device to your console.

Instructions

  1. Composite or Component Cables

    • 1

Turn off the TV and PS3.

    • 2

Disconnect the red and white audio plug-ins from the PS3's component or composite cable connected to your TV.

    • 3

Plug the red and white audio plug-ins into the matching-colored jacks on the headset's adapter cable. The adapter cable has red and white plug-ins on one end and a single green plug-in on the opposite end.

    • 4

Connect the green end of the adapter cable to the green connector attached to the headset's cable. This connection transfers your PS3's audio to the headset.

    • 5

Connect the headset cable's USB plug-in to a USB port on the front of the PS3.

    • 6

Power on the PS3 and press the PlayStation logo button on the remote to view the XrossMediaBar.

    • 7

Scroll to "Settings" on the XMB, then scroll down and select "Accessory Settings."
