How to Get Netflix to Work on PS3

Netflix allows you to stream movies and television programs through Netflix-ready devices such as your computer or PlayStation 3. The console does not come with the Netflix software installed, causing confusion among gamers trying to activate their accounts. In order for the video streaming service to work on your PS3, you must download the Netflix program. Then load the program and sync your Netflix account with the PS3.

Instructions

  Power on your PS3 and remove any game inserted in the system. The XrossMediaBar, also called the XMB, opens.

  Scroll to the "PlayStation Network" section. Scroll down and select "Sign In." Enter your PSN account's sign-in information to finish logging in. The PlayStation Network section reappears after sign-in.

  Choose "What's New" from the "PlayStation Network" area.

  Select "Netflix." Select "Download." The program takes a few seconds to download and install. Launch Netflix when prompted. An activation code appears.

  Visit "https://account.netflix.com/Activate?start=start" on your computer's browser. If prompted, sign in to Netflix. A Netflix device activation page opens.

  Type your activation code in the "Enter Code" text entry field and click "Activate." Netflix finishes loading on your PS3 a few seconds later.
