Test PlayStation 3 Network Connection

  Check the cables connecting your PlayStation 3 console to your modem or router if you are using a wired connection. For a wireless connection, check the cables connecting the router to the modem. Make sure they are securely in place in each port.

  Run a connection test on the PlayStation 3 by going to the Settings tab on the PlayStation 3 main menu and scrolling down to Network Settings. Press the "X" button on the controller to enter this menu.

  Scroll to Internet Connection and press the "X" button when Enabled is highlighted. Scroll to Internet Connection Settings and press the "X" button. Press the "X" button with Yes highlighted when the message appears that says the console will be disconnected from the Internet.

  Highlight Easy and press the "X" button. If you are using a wired connection, a check of the network configuration will begin. If you are using a wireless connection, you will need to highlight "Wireless" and press the "X" button on the next screen, and then the network configuration check will begin.

  Highlight Save Settings and press the "X" button, and then highlight Test Connection on the following screen and press the "X" button. After the connection test succeeds, press the "O" button to return to the PlayStation 3 main menu.

  Return to the Netflix app and test a show to see if the video quality has improved.

Change Video Quality Settings Through Netflix Account

  Visit Netflix.com on your computer and log in with your username and password.

  Click Your Account & Help in the top right corner of the screen.

  Click the Manage Video Quality link under Watching Instantly on Your TV or Computer.

  Click Best Quality, and then click the Save button.
