How to Fix an Optical Block

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) has an optical output block that can send digital surround sound to an amplifier or a compatibly equipped digital television. You can fix a malfunctioning optical block output on the PS3 that is keeping the digital audio signal from being transmitted. Household supplies are needed, as is a fiber optic cable that can be purchased from an electronics store or video game supply shop.

  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Paperclip
