How to Disconnect a PS3 Controller

One of the downsides of using a wireless controller with a PlayStation 3 is the cost of continually replacing its batteries. Therefore, you want the batteries to last as long as possible. To help increase battery life, turn off the controller when you take a break from a game. The controller doesn't have a power button, but you can turn it off it via the PS3 menu.

     Press and hold the controller's "PS" button until an options screen appears on the television.

     Scroll down and highlight "Turn Off The Controller."

     Press "X" to select the option and disconnect the controller.
