How to Make a PS3 Recognize a New Battery Controller

A new PlayStation 3 controller can be used to get others to play along with you. Having a friend for local cooperative game play can be fun and rewarding, and many of the games in the PlayStation 3 library have this feature. Whether you are buying an official Sony PlayStation 3 controller or a third party brand, all PlayStation 3 controllers can be synced to the console through a USB cable or the controller's wireless connection if the battery is charged.
