How to Hook up a PS3 to a New TV using an HDMI

If you recently purchased a new HD TV, you want to get the best possible graphics when playing your PS3 games or watching movies on the PS3's Blu-ray player. While you can connect your PS3 to your new TV in several different ways, such as using the standard audio/video cable that comes with the PS3 or a PS3-specific component cable, using an HDMI cable outputs the audio and video from your console in the highest possible quality.

  Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the slot marked HDMI on the back of the PS3.

  Insert the other end of the HDMI cable into an open HDMI slot on your new TV. Many TVs have more than one HDMI slot. It does not matter which one you use. The slots on your TV are typically labelled HDMI, or HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and so on.

  Turn on both the TV and PS3.

  Press the "Input" button on your TV's remote and then select the input that corresponds with where you connected your PS3 or until you see the video from your PS3 on the screen.
