How to Make Potions in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for PS3

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is a video game based on the book and film of the same name. While most of game's story is driven by open-world exploration, there are a number of minigames scattered throughout the game that are designed to break up the gameplay. One such minigame is the potion making minigame that involves a combination of selecting the right ingredients, firing and mixing the potion and occurs whenever Harry is in his potions class.

Instructions

  Use the PS3 controller's D-Pad to move your onscreen cursor over the ingredients bottle that resembles the colored icon on the right side of the potion-making screen. Press the "X" button to select the bottle and pick the bottle up.

  Move the ingredients bottle over the cauldron to begin pouring the ingredient into your potion. Continue to pour the ingredient into the potion until the potion turns the same color as the colored mixing icon on the right side of the potion-making screen.

  Repeat Steps 1 and 2 any time an ingredient bottle icon appears on the right side of the potion-making screen.

  Move your left analog stick up and down rapidly without selecting an ingredient bottle to heat up the cauldron until the potion matches the color inside the fire icon. Repeat any time a fire icon appears on the right side of the potion-making screen.

  Spin your left analog stick in a circle without selecting an ingredient bottle to stir the cauldron until the potion matches the color inside the stirring icon. The stirring icon resembles an arrow going in a circle. Repeat any time a stirring icon appears on the right side of the potion-making screen.

  Add ingredients, fire and stir your potion according to icons displayed on the right side of the potion-making screen until you have completed all of the steps. Once you have completed all of the steps, the potion is finished.
