How to Install a Dual Button Rapid Fire Kit

There are many action, fighting and battle games available for the PS3 gaming console. In games where you do a lot of shooting a constant rapid fire feature could really come in handy. There is a mod chip kit available for the PS3 controller that turns the regular top buttons of the controller into rapid fire buttons. The chip can be installed quickly, but you will need to take apart the PS3 controller.

Things You'll Need

Phillips screwdriver
Rapid-fire mod chip kit

Instructions

  Locate the five screws on the rear of the PlayStation controller and use your Phillips screwdriver to remove them.

  Lift the back casing off of the controller. You will now see the battery pack resting on top of the green controller circuit board. Lift up the battery and set it to the side of the board.

  Locate the large black square chip in the center of the circuit board. This is where you will attach the mod chip.

  Peel the protective cover off of the underside of the chip to expose the adhesive.

  Place the mod chip over the chip on the circuit board. The mod chip will stick to the circuit board chip.
- 6
  Place the battery over the circuit board and replace the back cover.
- 7
  Replace the screws, using your Phillips screwdriver.
