How to Make Blu-rays on the PS3 Sharper

The PlayStation 3 is more than just a gaming system; it is also a Blu-ray player. While you can connect this system to any television using RCA cables, you may not want to do that. Playing a high-definition movie on a low quality television will result in a grainy picture that is little better than a DVD. To sharpen the image, you'll need to connect your system to a quality high-definition television with an HDMI cable. This will give you the best performance and show you what a Blu-ray can do.

  Check your current setup to see what you are working with. If you currently have your PS3 plugged into a high-definition television using an HDMI cable, you are already getting the best Blu-ray experience you can. If not, continue.

  Upgrade your current television to a high-definition television. You'll need a TV that supports a 1080p resolution to get the sharpest picture possible. You can take your pick from Plasma, LCD or LED TV's or even consider a 3d HDTV to play 3D Blu-rays.

  Connect your PS3 to your new high-def TV using a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) cable. This is the only cable type as of publication that can provide a full quality Blu-ray experience.
