How to Install Kmeaw

Kmeaw is custom firmware for the PlayStation 3. Custom firmware, also known as CFW, is an aftermarket operating system for the PS3 that's not manufactured by Sony. Kmeaw has different menus and folders, and it works with modded game files. This CFW can be installed only on a PS3 with 3.55 original firmware -- or OFW.

USB flash drive
PS3 with 3.55 original firmware (OFW)

Instructions

  Download the PUP for Kmeaw custom firmware. Save the file to your computer's hard drive.

  Insert a thumb drive into an open USB port on your computer.

  Right-click the PUP. Click "Copy." Right-click the drive that corresponds with the USB thumb drive. Click "Paste" to copy the PUP file to the thumb drive.

  Remove the thumb drive, and insert it into an open USB port on the PlayStation 3.

  Scroll to "Settings." Press "X." Scroll to "System Update." Press "X."

  Scroll to "Update via Storage Media." Press "X."

  Scroll to the PUP file on the thumb drive. Press "X" to install it onto the PlayStation 3. The PS3 will reboot when the installation is complete.
