How to Make Sounds Come Through the PS3 Headset and Not the TV
There is no way to make every sound in a game go through a PlayStation 3 headset, as the device is only designed to be used for voice chat. However, you can change the settings to make it so that all forms of voice chat use the headset rather than the television. These settings limit the sound from the TV to in-game sound effects and music; external audio sources, such as voices in a multiplayer game, will go to the headset.
Instructions
1
Go to "Settings" from the PlayStation 3's main menu.
2
Select "Accessory Settings."
3
Change the input and output to the PlayStation 3's Bluetooth Headset. All voices will now come through the headset.
