How to Get Rid of a List of Typed Things on My PS3

The PlayStation 3 automatically saves your text entries when using the console's on-screen keyboard to execute searches or fill out forms. Once saved, the PS3 displays a drop-down list of similar past text entries when typing on the console. This can speed up browser searches or filling in forms, such as address or name fields, but it can also potentially violate your privacy if another person views your typing history while operating the console. Clear your console's predictive text dictionary to stop breaches in privacy.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any disc from the PS3's tray and turn on the console. The XMB loads.

    • 2

      View the "Settings" section.

    • 3

      Select "System Settings."

    • 4

      Select "Delete Predictive Text Dictionary."

    • 5

Confirm the deletion on the pop-up prompt. The list of saved text entries deletes.
