How to Make Another Online ID for PS3

The PlayStation Network is the free online service for the PS3. All multi-player gaming, downloadable content and streaming media is accessed via the PlayStation Network. When signing up for the PlayStation Network, you select a unique user name or ID that represents your PlayStation Network account. The ID is displayed to other players and those on your friends list. There is no limit to the number of PlayStation Network accounts a person can make.

  Go to the "PlayStation Network" icon on the PS3 menu. Scroll down, and select "Sign up for PlayStation Network."

  Select "Create a New Account." Select "Continue" to skip through the initiation screen. Enter your preferred language, country and birthday. Select "Accept" to accept the User Agreement.

  Use the on-screen keyboard to enter an email address and password. The email address must not be connected to another PSN account. Select a security question with an answer you'll remember in the event that you forget your PSN account information. Enter your PSN user name using the on-screen keyboard. If the name is taken, you will be prompted to select another one.

  Enter your name and address, and select any notifications you wish to receive via email. Verify that the information on-screen is correct, and select "Confirm." Choose to fill out an optional survey, and select an avatar for the PSN account.
